Volvo – An approach to construction industry
A recognized automobile company, entered infrastructure division by acquiring Ingersoll Rand, a well known group.
Challenges :
- To bring awareness to graduates/professionals of civil engineering in the field of highway engineering about training opportunities and scope of career in road building/infrastructure
- To communicate the bringing about of a qualified talent pool in India and thereby encourage investments in the Infrastructure area
Strategy :
- All India launch of RASTA – The Virtual University with a workshop on road-building community. This was followed by press gatherings in four cities
- Organized Press Conference where Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU)’s recognition of RASTA as an extension center to offer post graduate courses in ROAD TECHNOLOGY was announced
- Commstrat supported “ROAD TECH-2008”, a two day National Conference organized by RASTA- Center for Road Technology addressed by C.E.G. Justo, Technical advisor- RASTA, and Prof. Kincha the Vice-Chancellor of Karnataka University
Result :
- The interest in the topic fetched phenomenal news coverage in both print and television media
- Gained awareness in the trade circle
